ACCORDING
TO SCIENTISTS
- GLOBAL POPULATION WILL DOUBLE BY 2030
With all the
garbage going into city dumps these days - its small wonder we have
anywhere to stand - let alone, a decent place to live - Africa,
America
& Asia were
wonderfully
pristine & clean - now the same beaches and cities
are
usually clogged with non-biodgradable
junk - mostly toxic - that will wreck our habitat for eons to come -
so
what is a city
planner to do - perhaps go with
the City Dump Biomass Option - we will never ever run out of
garbage - thats for sure - lets utilize waste like mother
nature does, the smart way
Our most critical commodity - or lack thereof - Water - H2O
-
there simply will never be enough - forget Oil -
Water is our most precious commodity
Multi-stage
Flash Evaporators
- new kid on the block
Multi-stage flash distillation (MSF) is a water
desalination
process
that distills saline water by flashing a portion of the water
into steam in multiple stages of what are essentially
countercurrent heat exchangers. Multi-stage flash distillation
plants
produce 85% of all desalinated water in the world - more than any
other
single process
Process
Our deep well desalinization supply process provides potable water
through desalinization of substrata saline water from saline
aquifers -
deep wells establish & circulate a supply
of water
solution to and from
the desalinization facility. A portion of the saline
water is flashed, converted to high quality potable water in
the MSF
units - the remaining product is
returned
back into the substrate saline table, which could land up in
China or Down Under and will not devestate the fragile coast line as
the ME reverse osmosis system has done
Saline water is pumped from the upper region of the substrata
saline
water table through multiple supply wells, taking suction
well below the fresh water aquifer and substrata barriers
to supply the MSF
desalinization tranes. Distilled water captured in the MSF
desalinization tranes is transferred to Product Water Storage Tanks
for
processing. Saline water effluent
from the MSF desalinization tranes is
recirculated back into the lower region of the
substrata saline aquifer via multiple return wells, thus closing the
cycle of saline water flow. The
concentration factor for the
saline
water is projected to be less than 2%. This minimal concentration
wil be negated by continual flow within the saline
aquifers.
Product water is pumped from the multiple desalinization tranes to
multiple product water storage tanks, which will supply the
multiple heat recovery steam generators with
make up
water. Product water is routed from the Product water storage
tanks
to the remineralization system, which will treat the product water
with
minerals to meet potable water, AWWA
standards or to the delivery system for
irrigation use. The output from the
remineralization system will be routed to multiple potable water
storage tanks Potable water will then be
chlorinated to meet
potable water and AWWA
Standards.

Why
Bio-Gas?
We
have several low tech,
inexpensive Biomass Plants that will fit those small facilities that
simply want to rid themselves of the huge trash build up, very well
suited to small cities
as well as for larger communities where one has
rather restricive dump space or
where they simply want to recycle trash and
make the plant self sufficient..
Our Biomass plant start at say $6m FOB and move up quite sharply -
when
considering
the huge Methane Gas Capture that each one of these plants can make
-
it starts to make a lot of
sense - Methane Gas contributes more
to Ozone Depletion than any other gas on our Planet - we
have large units of
100MW costing more than $100m
The
United Nations Development Programme
(UNDP) 1997 report, Energy
After
Rio: Prospects and Challenges ... the UN identified community
bio-gas plants as one
of the most useful
decentralized sources of energy supply ever ... Bio-gas
plants have
the following advantages:
- They
destroy methane,
the highly destructive greenhouse gas, so
it does not go into the atmosphere and contribute to global warming.
- They
provide
clean-burning fuel for stoves and lamps instead of using wood or
dung.
- They
reduce labor,
eliminating the back-breaking task of collecting firewood which
a
majority of rural women have to do on a daily basis.
- They
protect the
remaining forests by reducing the dependence on firewood.
- They
reduce
respiratory disorders caused by smoke from cooking with
firewood, which
especially affects women and their small children.
- They
improve
village hygiene, since the attached toilets lead to the
pathogen-destroying digestion tanks of the systems.
- They
yield more
potent fertiliser than the original constituent wastes.
- They
provide
lighting needed for evening study, literacy classes, home and
community
activities.
- People
have been
using bio-gas as an energy source for over 200 years. In the
days
before electricity, bio-gas was drawn from the under
- ground
sewer pipes
in London
and burned in street lamps (which is why they were known as
gaslights).
- Using
bio gas
generators have two benefits -- they consume methane a
greenhouse gas,
and are a source of fuel.
Often
there is money to be made when
an almost new facility that cost
big-bucks going in can be bought for say 20 or 30% of original
capital
cost - which might have
been say $35m -
$45m with say two to three years of
construction work and planning -
obviously we need to move it all
to the new site - but that saves a huge amount of R&D spend
many years of
fabrication - envirnomental
work, start up costs, and
typically the + 5 years of 'tree hugging' permits - lose all
the engineering expenses
Steam Turbine
Generators (STG)
Usually
where very large horsepower
and power outputs are required,
and there is an abundant supply of water, a steam (STG) setup
fits the
bill nicely - these big boys will
also
burn about anything and can
move
between say a coal burner and a
HFO burner quite easily - without
breaking the bank - with steam being the common
denominator for
both fuel
types - we have
access to several, good examples of new, never used
installations as well as new,
never used, & never installed
complete units at extremely attractive prices
Often the capital cost
might
have been
say + $350m and 4 years of
construction work - we can pick the entire power plant up for
say $30-$50m -
obviously we need to move it all
to
the new site - there is a massive monetary saving, in
addition to many
years of
steel fabrication that even a very large
steam boiler takes to build - might also derail the entire
project
-
plus all the environmental work that new start ups require -
typically 5 years - we can cut that down to
say one year
- which
of course means an additional four year net cash flow
from a decent
PPA - as well as the capital
cost savings of those four years of payroll, etc
Large 1,000 MW STG
Solar
&
Wind bring a
relatively new twist to the Big Three of power
generation as we know it. with CAD/CAM, software &
hardware moving very quickly, using
Li-On batteries
instead of clunky wet cells that leak
everywhere, plus a little solar
here, a bit of breeze there, all add up to a lot of saved watts,
trees,
polar bears and sky hooks.
A
new twist to wind
chargers is the so called Vertical Axis Wind
Turbine or VAWT, which is both efficient & quiet. The
average
home needs say 1KVA per day, a typical business
5KVA per day - a couple of these will take care of most
SOHO
and other sundry SME.

nation's
leading purchaser of renewable energy, that will result in
construction
of a massive, 4,500-acre solar generating
station in Southern California. When completed, this power
station will
be the world's largest solar facility, capable
of producing more electricity than all other U.S. solar projects
combined.
